Why a Product Is Not at the Pharmacy: How to Check Availability Before You Go
You have a prescription, you go to the pharmacy and you hear that the product is not in stock. This is one of the more common frustrations for patients, because a prescription's validity is limited and pharmacies can be far apart.
On 22.10.2026 we checked in what percentage of pharmacies the GdziePoLek service shows selected products as available. The differences are large and worth knowing before you leave home. The text does not assess products, it only describes availability.

Data read from product pages on the GdziePoLek service, the "nationwide" tab. For each product the service states that it is available "in X% of pharmacies". It is a snapshot from one day: the numbers change when pharmacies receive deliveries or sell out.

Find the full name
Copy the producer, THC and CBD from the prescription, not just the strain. How to read such an entry is explained in the article on how to read a product name.

Check the pharmacy list
On the GdziePoLek service enter the product name and your city; you will see the pharmacies that have it, along with prices.

Call
The service shows the state at a single moment, so before you travel confirm by phone that the product is in store.

Watch the prescription's validity
If the deadline is approaching, start with phone calls to pharmacies, not with the trip. We discuss the validity rules in the article how to fill an e-prescription.
When the product is missing everywhere
If after calling around the pharmacies the product is not there, contact the clinic that issued the prescription. The decision to change the product is always made by the doctor, not by the patient or the pharmacist. Before you do, prepare a list of the pharmacies you checked and the name of the missing product: it will shorten the conversation.

Frequently asked questions
Is the percentage of pharmacies the same as a guarantee that I will be able to buy it?
No. It is a nationwide average and a snapshot from one day. In your area availability may be higher or zero.
Why do products have different availability?
The service does not give reasons, so we do not speculate. We measured only the fact of the differences.
Can I fill a prescription at any pharmacy?
As a rule yes, provided the pharmacy has the product in stock. That is why checking availability in advance makes sense.
What should I do when the prescribed product is not available?
Contact the clinic. Switching to another product is the doctor's decision.
