After the visit you have a medical cannabis ePrescription - and a practical question appears: what next, where and how to fill it? Relax, it is simpler than it seems, though there are a few details worth knowing.
The most important is product availability - and we will write about that plainly too.
An ePrescription is an electronic prescription - you do not get paper, just a four-digit code. It most often comes by text or email, and you will also find it on your Patient Online Account. At the pharmacy you give this code together with your ID number.
Not every pharmacy dispenses medical cannabis. Before you go, it is worth calling to ask whether a given pharmacy fills such prescriptions and whether it has your product in stock. This saves trips back and forth.
We lay out the list of pharmacies and ways to check availability in our article where to buy medical cannabis.
Specific strains of flower or oil are sometimes temporarily out of stock - that is normal in this market. They can usually be ordered or reserved, and the pharmacist will help choose an equivalent product consistent with the prescription. If a particular profile matters to you, ask in advance.
A medical cannabis prescription has a limited validity period, so do not put off filling it. Remember too that the product is not reimbursed - you pay the full price at the pharmacy.
We break down what this really costs per month in our therapy price list.
Code plus ID number, a pharmacy with medical cannabis, checked availability and filling within the validity period. That is all it takes. If you are only starting the path to a prescription, begin with our article how to get a prescription.
