Medical Cannabis Strains in Poland - How to Read Them

Patients often ask which medical cannabis strains are available in Poland and which to choose. Instead of a list of names that quickly goes out of date, we will show something more lasting: how to read a strain and what really matters.

The profile matters, not the name alone

Pharmacies stock various cannabis raw materials, labelled above all by the content of two components:

  • THC - responsible for the strength of action and the psychoactive effect
  • CBD - softens part of THC's action and has its own properties
  • So a strain is usually described by the THC to CBD ratio - it, not the trade name, says the most about how the product will act.

    Indica, sativa and hybrids

You will also meet the indica, sativa and hybrid division, traditionally associated with a different character of effect - more calming or more stimulating. It is a simplification but can be helpful. We expand on it in indica or sativa.

On why the effect depends on the whole plant profile we write in the entourage effect.

    Availability can vary

The range of raw materials in pharmacies changes over time - a specific strain may be temporarily unavailable. So the doctor selects the profile while keeping in mind alternatives with similar parameters, so you are not left without therapy.

Where to look for the raw material we describe in where to buy.

The choice belongs to the doctor

Most importantly: a strain is not chosen on your own by name. The doctor matches the profile to your symptoms and tolerance. The first visit is in person - in Krakow, Bydgoszcz, Torun or Kielce, booking at 731 000 645.
