You have your prescription and the preparation - what next? The first month of therapy is a time of adjustment, observation and patience. It is worth knowing what to expect, so you do not get discouraged too early or make typical mistakes.
The golden rule is start low, go slow. Therapy begins with a small dose that you gradually increase as the doctor advises, until you find the effective one. It is normal that the first days are about finding the right level.
More in the guide dosing.
In the first days the body gets used to it. Temporary effects may appear, such as drowsiness, dry mouth or slight dizziness - they usually ease with time. If something acts too strongly, the article when THC feels too strong will help.
Do not raise the dose on your own when the effect is too strong - rather take a step back and consult.
Note the dose, the timing and the effects - such as pain, sleep or mood. Such a journal greatly helps the doctor assess and adjust the therapy. It does not have to be complicated, short notes are enough.
It is also excellent preparation for the follow-up visit.
A fuller assessment of the effect can be expected after a few weeks of regular use, not after one day. That is why the follow-up visit matters, where we adjust the dose or profile - we write about it in the follow-up visit.
