Choosing a Vaporizer and Vaporizing Temperature

Vaporizing is the most commonly recommended way to take dried medical cannabis flower. Quite a few questions have grown around the device and temperature, though. We explain what to look at when choosing a vaporizer and why temperature matters.

Why vaporizing, not smoking

In vaporizing the flower is heated, not burned, so the active substances are released without smoke and combustion products. This is gentler on the airways and gives better control of the dose.

How to use a vaporizer step by step we describe in how to vaporize.

Types of vaporizers

In practice you mainly choose between:

  • portable - small, battery-powered, handy for travel and away from home
  • desktop - larger, mains-powered, usually with precise temperature control
  • It is important that the device is meant for herbs (dried flower) and lets you set the temperature. A doctor or pharmacist can suggest proven medical models.

    Temperature and effect

Temperature changes what is released from the flower:

  • lower (around 180-190 C) - a gentler effect, more terpenes and aroma
  • higher (around 200-210 C) - a stronger effect, more THC released
  • The choice depends on the therapy goal and tolerance - we explain the role of aromas in terpenes.

    Matching it to therapy

It is best to agree the device and temperature range with a doctor so they fit your dose and goal. The first visit is in person - in Krakow, Bydgoszcz, Torun or Kielce, booking at 731 000 645.
